(Luke 1:67-80) "Then Zechariah his father, filled with the holy Spirit, prophesied, saying:. "Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has visited and brought redemption to his people. He has raised up a horn for our salvation within the house of David his servant, even as he promised through the mouth of his holy prophets from of old: salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us, to show mercy to our fathers and to be mindful of his holy covenant and of the oath he swore to Abraham our father, and to grant us that, rescued from the hand of enemies, without fear we might worship him in holiness and righteousness before him all our days. And you, child, will be called prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, to give his people knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God by which the daybreak from on high will visit us to shine on those who sit in darkness and death's shadow, to guide our feet into the path of peace." The child grew and became strong in spirit, and he was in the desert until the day of his manifestation to Israel."

(Luke 2:1-12) "In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole world should be enrolled. This was the first enrollment, when Quirinus was governor of Syria. So all went to be enrolled, each to his own town. And Joseph to went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem, because he was off the house and family of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her first born son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manner, because there was no room for them in the inn. Now there were shepherds in that region living in the girls and keeping the night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.""

(Luke 2:13-21) "And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests." When the angels went away from them to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let us go, then, to Bethlehem to see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us.". So they went in haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known the message that had been told them about this child. All who heard it were amazed by what had been told them by the shepherds. And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them. When right days were completed for his circumcision, he was named Jesus, the name given him by the angel before he was conceived in the womb."

(Luke 2:22-35) "When the days were completed for their purification according to the law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, just as it is written in the law of the Lord, "Every male that opens the womb shall be consecrated to the Lord," and to offer the sacrifice of "a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons," in accordance with the dictate in the new law of the Lord. Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and the holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Messiah of the Lord. He came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform the custom of the law in regard to him, he took him into his arms and blessed God, saying: "Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in sight of all the peoples,a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel." The child's father and mother were amazed at what was said about him; and Simeon blessed then and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted (and you yourself a sword will pierce) so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed."
December 19
(Luke 2: 36-40) "There was also a prophetess,Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived seven years with her husband after her marriage, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshipped night and day with fasting and prayer. And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem. When they had fulfilled all the prescriptions of the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor if God was upon him."
Our Story:
(or what I can recall of our magical moments since I haven't taken the time to journal for several days)
Wednesday
We went to see Santa! Well we grabbed a handful of grilled cheese and blew outta here so we got there on time. The was a long line to see Santa, which we walked right past to go get a cup of coffee at Giddy Up & Joe! Zach had hot and I opted for cold. I'm so excited for our friends who chased goals right into a small business. She and her husband took a horse trailer and remodeled it into a beautiful coffee truck. It was our first chance to try. I know chasing after goals like that can be scary, and it's pretty cool addition to the area (or out of the area) since it has wheels. 🙈 Coffee on wheels!! Typical; there is Santa and his reindeer, and my priority was to try the coffee ✌️ If you have Facebook you can click here to see the horse trailer transformation and give her page a like in support of small businesses.

My sister in law was there so she walked around with the girls and me and looked at the lights. Meanwhile, Zach and Xander got in the Santa line.

The girls had all the magic vibes going. Thanks aunt Karley for the pictures❤️ and for hanging out with us. When we came back around to Daddy and Xander, they were about halfway through the line. The kids were so excited to see Santa. I guess I was expecting someone to be scared.

Xander was so excited/ nervous and just kept grinning and laughing. The girls were all over Santa with the hugs and all. Evie ofcourse told him about the pig on a leash she wants, Izzy told him she wants a pink teddy bear, and Xander a skate board. 🤦(Again with the skateboard?)
It was a very last minute decision to go,but I'm so glad we did. Before we left Zach bought what was left of the kettle corn. ( That's an exaggeration, but he did buy a big bag for each of us). I had some for breakfast, lunch, and my 14 snacks today.🙈
On the way home the kids requested "The Little Drummer Boy." 🥁

Thursday
We went out to dinner, and to the light show. The kids had a blast dancing. Daddy and I even squeezed in a slow dance. We went on a mini shopping spree, where Izzy spotted something she "wanted to buy for Gammy". We wished Gammy a Happy 90th Birthday via speakerphone phone call in the car. Izzy requested that we play "The Little Drummer Boy" song in the car. I love listening to them singing along.
Thursday night we arrived home to a bag on our porch with a gift for each of the kids and chocolate Santa's. After the kids got in their jammies, we all piled on our bed and let them open the gifts. They were so excited! I can't wait to watch them open another gift. They really enjoyed their gifts. We might have to save the chocolate for Zach and me. 😂
Friday
The kids and I went on quite the daytime adventure. We went and got Evie's ears pierced. This is something she has been talking about for a couple years now. Her Mimi says that would be part of her Christmas gift. The kids and I met Mimi and Evie finally got her wish. I was so proud of how brave she was. (Where did my baby go?) I think her big brother was more nervous than her. He actually told me the night before that he was "a little nervous about it." She was so excited and she is ready to go earring shopping already!
Mimi gave Everleigh some money for us to get lunch. When the kids and I got our lunch, Evie used her money to pay her portion of the bill. She loved this! I wasn't even allowed to touch her money! (How dare me help her😂). After lunch, we went to a little bookstore and hung out inside for a bit. It's set up for reading and a very welcoming space to take kiddos. I read to them, and they explored different books. Xander found a book about pirates and told me, "This book inspires me.". Needles to say, I bought that one(Hook, line, and sinker 😂). Evie picked out a "Frozen" book and Izzy made several little stacks of books like she was on a muffin to take them all of the shelves. Our time spent there was actually surprisingly relaxing(until it wasn't anymore😁). The walk to the car was a little rough. Ofcourse, on the way home we listened to "The Little Drummer Boy."
That evening Mommy got to go shopping with Aunt Karley while Daddy and the babes went to visit Mimi and Pap. Karley and I shopped until we dropped and then stayed up until 5am wrapping gifts. (Definitely feeling the consequences of this).
Saturday
Saturday held lots of magic because we got to see JoJo! The kids have been counting down how many sleeps until she would be here. We were pumped to see her, as usual. In addition to the excitement of JoJo, the kids Christmas elf, Sheah brought them reindeer shaped cookies and candy canes! That evening we watched the story of the candy cane and how it's symbolism reminds us of Christmas' true meaning.

Sunday
Today was party day! After churchie, we helped Nana and Pap. We went to Grams surprise 90th Birthday Party. It was a very nice turn out and I think the kids had fun too. Mom asked me to prepare a speech for the party. I was honored to tell everyone just what Gram means to me and what makes her so significant. I'll save that for another post. At the party, my cousin mentioned just how blessed we are for my kids to have their great grandma play such a role in their lives, as they were all piling around her and fighting for her attention. Indeed, they are! ❤️
Peep this cake by Style Me Sweet. She made the cake and cupcakes for Grams birthday party and it was exceptional. If you haven't tried her baking, you're missing out! It never disappoints. Click this link to see some of her creations on Pinterest. She recently posted pictures of her bakery on her Facebook page. You can see that here.

On the way home tonight, Everleigh asked us to play "The Little Drummer Boy" followed by her request to"play it again by a girl singer" 🥁
I think we can confidently say that"The Little Drummer Boy" is a favorite for us. 😜
