25 Days of Christmas with the Millers

25 Days until Christmas! 25 Days until we celebrate Jesus' Birthday!

The story of Christmas; Day 1: John 3:16

Our Story; Day 1:

The kids are so excited for all the magical things to happen. December 1st! That means we start asking when Santa is coming! (Izzy: "Mom is Santa coming today?!") Xander and Everleigh spent half the morning searching for their elf of a shelf, Sheah (She was nowhere to be found.) Izabelle was just worried about what she would be having for her second tier breakfast. We are out of milk so that put a halt to her plan for lucky charms.

Today we met up with friends, had lunch and then painted Christmas ornaments at a pottery studio in the mall. When we got to the mall, the kids were super excited to see their friends, asking lots of questions ("Mom, can we ride the train?", "Mom, can we go in the arcade?!" "Mom when we get our lunch, can I get coke?", "Mom, can we get ice cream?", "Can you hold my coat" "Mommy, I have to pee." just to name a few 😆) We had fun spotting the elves that were hidden all throughout the mall. During lunch,we spilled a whole sprite on the floor, so I got to use the janitors mop (it's more fun when it's not your mop or your house✌️) I put the wet floor sign up so that nobody would slip on the wet floor. Izzy climbed in the wet floor sign as if it were a fort.🙈😳 The kids had so much fun picking out their colors, and putting their paint on super thick. The hardest thing about being in the pottery studio was the whole "don't touch anything" bit ( yeah right, huh?). At ages 2,4, and 6, I think I just need to get a device to play my commands back to the kids, so we can just keep hitting the play button and save my breath. After painting, we did ride the train. It was worth the million dollar grins, but I felt a little large for the train. 😆(4 stars)

Thankfully, the kids found Sheah in the Christmas tree when we got back home from the mall. She seemed to be covered in white stuff (flour).... The kids said, "Maybe she was stuck in a snow storm."(or maybe flour from last year😩🤦 Tomorrow, we'll do better!)

The kids had pizza and then watched Frozen while Mom and Dad ate steak, mashed potatoes, and corn. We also updated our prayer wall and talked about the people and/or things we want to pray for as a family. We started this a while ago. ( The prayer wall idea was inspired by a children's book.) Daddy cooked for Mom and it was delicious. Unfortunately, we concluded the day with Izzy fevered. Hoping she feels better ASAP! We have 24 more days of Christmas ahead of us!

Look alive, parents! December waits for no one! Time to stop letting the time change kick our butts, and make some epic memories. I'm convinced that traditions of the past and the memories I'm making with my kids are what get me through these days when darkness rolls in at 4pm.🤷‍♀️

Thanks for being here❤️✌️
