Babies on Bikes with Sugar on Top

The story of Christmas; December 13:

(Luke 1:46-56) "And Mary said: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior. For he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed. The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name. His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him. He has shown might with his arm, dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart. He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones but lifted up the lowly. The hungry he has filled with good things; the rich he has sent away empty. He has helped Israel his servant, remembering his mercy, according to his promise to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever." Mary remained with her about three months and then returned to her home."

Our Story: This morning, Everleigh helped to to hang up our Christmas cards that we were fortunate to get in the mail recently. There is a special place in my heart for the folks that still send out Christmas cards. It's nice to recieve something in the mail other than bills, "jury duty, jury duty, jury duty, blackmail, pink slip, chain letter, eviction notice, jury duty." (Quoted from none other than the Grinch, incase you missed it😁)

Since it was nearly 50 degrees today, we went to the playground and walking trail after doing our school stuff. The kids had a great time riding their bikes on the trail followed by playing on the playground; mostly the swings. I took a stroller to hold everyone's water bottles because in the past I have learned that going on a bike ride or walk without water can cause near death like symptoms for the kiddos. Today ironicly, since I was prepared, nobody needed even one drink of water. 😂. The stroller did come in handy though, because when Izzy got tired of riding her scooter, we were able to hang it on the stroller. She was fun to watch on the scooter while it lasted. I was impressed by how well she did with it. My student as well as my kids were excited to play on the playground after taking their bike rides. I'm so thankful for this beautiful, unseasonably warm day.

Xander wanted to know more about the railroad cart there, so we read the signs and studied the pictures in the display beside it. He was very inquisitive and interested in learning more about the railroad and what he saw in the old photos.

One snack, and one read aloud later...We had some repeat Christmas magic. We iced some more of the cookies they had made from the other day. Ofcourse, we had to taste them again, too. What's a 50 degree December day of riding bikes without sugar?!

We ended out our day, with a new baby to tuck in. The girls said, "We have a new baby." Who knew, we have two little mothers in training? Thank God, their baby has less attitude than them.🙌
