Our Story: Pancake Saturday!!! Saturday is my favorite day! Daddy makes us pancakes and it's amazing. We love when Daddy cooks for obvious reasons. One being, Mommy usually sleeps in on Saturdays. I get up when I smell the coffee and hear the chaos starting to begin.🙈😆

Today was absolutely beautiful. The sunshine was good for all of us, especially Izzy. She is still coughing and super congested, but past the fever, so we'll take it. I think the fresh air and sun was just what she needed. We walked around the lake while we were waiting for our pizza to be done for lunch. It turned out to be a pretty great adventure. Everleigh is such a nature lover. Today when we passed a fallen tree she said, "Mommy, I bet that tree was really beautiful when it was standing up." ❤️. Someday she might be saying that about me.

We found some trash and Daddy found a plate. The plate had writing all over it from a young girl with a broken heart. She was starting anew. Whomever she is, I hope she is doing well now. 🙏🏼 The kids played at the playground and I collected pinecones for winter decorating. We ate our lunch at a pavilion by the lake. I also hacked some pine from the pine tree nearest our house to put in my flower pots. 🙈

When we got home, the kids each painted a pinecone to make them look like Christmas trees.🎄

Uncle Jacob invited us to Mimi and Paps to play Fireball Island. Everleigh insisted that everyone wear Christmas jammies. So all of us, Zach and I included put on our Christmas jammies and away we went. She made me message Mimi and Pap and Uncle Jacob to tell them that they had to put on their Christmas jammies too. There certainly is something beautiful about how everyone in the family can be so easily controlled by a 4 year old.😆.

Meanwhile, Izzy was upset because she told Mimi she "wanted to call her Uncle Derek" who lives out of state because, "she misses him and he is her best friend." ❤️She must really feeling his absence latley and taking more and more about him. We will have to try again because she wasn't happy that she couldn't get ahold of him. 🙈
