17 Days to Christmas

The story of Christmas; December 8: (Isaiah 40:1-11). "Comfort, give comfort to my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her service is at an end, her guilt is expired; Indeed, she has recieved from the hand of the LORD double for all her sins. A voice cries out: In the desert prepare the way of the LORD! Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God! Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill shall be made low; The rugged land shall be made a plain, the rough country, a broad valley. Then the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all mankind shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken. A voice says,"Cry out!" I answer, "What shall I cry out?" "All mankind is grass, and all their glory like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower wilts, when the breath of the LORD blows upon it. [So then the people is the grass.] Though the grass withers and the flower wilts, the word of our God stands for ever.". Go up onto a high mountain, Zion, herald of glad tidings; Cry out at the top of your voice, Jerusalem, herald of good news! Fear not to cry out and say to the cities if Judah: Here is your God! Here comes with power the Lord GOD, who rules by his strong arm; Here is his reward with him, his recompense before him. Like a shepherd feeds his flock; in his arms he gathers the lambs, Carrying them in his bosom, and leading the ewes with care."

Our story: It's safe to say our story doesn't compare to the Promise of Salvation! But, it was a good day.☺️ Everyone is back to acting like themselves today. Actually, the energy levels are off the charts, so is the sibling rivalry. 😳 I cleaned up the kitchen, which had dishes piled from the last three days.

We had a surprise visit from Nana today! She brought us homemade broccoli soup😍 that I may or may not have put in a request for. I say request, but Nana says it was more of a demand. 😁 The soup was a good as her company. She cuddled all the babes while she was here. There was no room left in her lap for me, which somehow seems slightly unfair. There is nothing quite like a visit from my Momma.

We cleaned up our piles of miscellaneous blankets and paper scraps that were sprinkled all throughout the living room. It was pretty obvious that the kids and I took a couple days off from tidying up. We had to get out somehow, someway.

This evening, we mailed the letters to Santa! This was a big deal and we talked about it all day. Peep Everleigh's outfit; Christmas shirt, zip up sweatshirt, topped with animal print vest. I'm not sure why she preferred this to her coat, but she insisted. She is wearing jeans though, which is completely against her fashion beliefs! I bribed her to wear them because I thought they would be warmer than her choices in pants.😆

We watched some the lightshow (until our hands were cold) and then ofcourse, we checked out the nativity scene. Daddy is missing from the picture, unfortunately because he took it. We drove around and looked at Christmas lights. I enjoyed it despite lots of backseat disputes.

I still feel a little anxious when the kids start coughing but they are obviously feeling better. We have been fever free since Monday. I'm so grateful for that. So that means back to normal tomorrow. School/work routine back in play, and no more binge watching TV in the middle of the day.😁

I realized today that my countdown was off on my previous posts🙈. Can we just blame it on my mom brain? 🙄 I fixed it. Or atleast I think. 😂I hope it didn't cause excess notifications for those of you that use the app.

❤️ Thanks for reading
